“No, no need!” Clara quickly responded, Tm just feeling super wiped out, a good night’s

sleep will do the trick! I probably won’t be able to make it to the cocktail party tonight, I’m

really sorry, Mr. Melendez!”

“Just call me Emmett!”

“Huh? But it’s just us here!”

“From now on, you have to call me Emmett, no matter who’s around, or if it’s just the two

of us.”

Clara felt a pang of sadness, “Alex, mummy misses you too! I’ll be there soon!”

“Don’t worry mummy, Mr. Milburn and I are getting along really well! Mr. Milburn bought

me lots of yummy things, I’m afraid I’ll have to go on a diet when I get back!

Clara responded helplessly, “Don’t be too mischievous, Mr. Milburn has work to do, you

have to learn to play by yourself! If you’re really bored, just give

me a call.”

“Alright! Don’t worry, mummy!”

Clara wanted to tell Alex about Aiden, but she didn’t know how to bring it up, so she just

decided not to say anything.

She’ll just wait and see!

She was afraid that Alex might not be able to handle it, and she wasn’t there to comfort

him. If Alex started to cry, it would just cause trouble for Elio.

Suddenly, Elio’s voice came through from the other end

“When are you gonna agree to be my girlfriend? Alex just complimented me, saying I’m

the best candidate to be his daddy!”

Elio, don’t joke about this in front of the kid!”

“Do I sound like I’m joking right now?”

“Yes, you do!”

“You’re just ignoring my feelings for you!” Elio said, “What did I do to deserve knowing

such a heartless woman like you!”

Clara gave a helpless smile, “Once this is all over, I’ll definitely treat you to a meal!”

“A meal? You think treating me to a meal is enough to repay me?”

“You also have to do me a favor!” Elio chuckled “Can you pretend to be my girlfriend? My

parents keep pressuring me to get married, and it’s driving me crazy! So I told them I

After speaking, Elio hung up the phone without any further discussion!

Clara looked at her phone, helplessly furrowing her brow How did it come to the point

where they’re both asking her to pretend to be their girlfriend? She hadn’t even finished

playing the role of Emmett’s wife herself, and now Elio also wants her to pretend to be his

girlfriend!
