Hold up, who’re ya?”

Clara froze, turning around…

For a split second she felt like her soul was about to jump out of her body!

nearby, “Mommy, what are you doing here?”

“I was brought here by Emmett…” Clara paused, suddenly asking, “What did you just call

me, mommy? You. You know who I am…”

“Of course I do! I’ll explain everything later! Mommy, can you tell me why Alex was sent

away? I’ve been looking for him, but I can’t find him!”

“Mommy?”

“Ah… Alex, Alex went to Europe, he had some business to take care of.”

Aiden looked around and then whispered into Clara’s ear, “Mommy, I don’t know what

long So, every night when my grandmother goes to sleep at around half past eight, I’ll

sneak out and call you, you come pick me up, okay?”

Clara nodded blankly.

Aiden reached out his small hand, “Mommy, give me your phone.”

Clara quickly handed it over.

“This is my number, now I have yours too, I’ll contact you before I head out! You come pick

me up around the Melendez family estate”

“Okay!”

Aiden gave a small smile and turned to leave.

Clara instinctively grabbed her son’s hand. They stared at each other for a few seconds…

Soon, tears welled up in Clara’s eyes, and they began streaming down her face.

“All these years, I’m so sorry, kiddo…” she uttered, her voice filled with remorse

Clara bit her lip forcefully, determined to conceal her tears. She didn’t want her son to

witness her crying during their first meeting. She had envisioned this moment countless

“Mommy, if I stay away for too long, grandma will start searching for me! I have to go,”

Aiden gently reassured Clara, patting her hand. “We’ll meet again tonight, I promise.”

Clara nodded fervently, her gaze fixed on Aiden as he vanished from her sight. In that

moment, it felt as if she were caught in a dream. The man from her past turned out to be

Emmett The confusion within her mind was overwhelming, leaving her unable to sort out

her thoughts.

Suddenly-

She felt someone tap her from behind!

Turning around, she saw Emmett.

“What are you doing?”

“Uh I thought the view here was pretty nice, so I wanted to enjoy it.

Emmett glanced at his own garden, “If you like it, you could move in here.”
