“You guys must remember, his health is a bit off. So it’s best not to give him any more shocks. Plus, he should eat

more nourishing food and not pull all-nighters.” The doctor carefully reminded them, and Matt quickly nodded, “Got

it, doctor..”

“Once the patient wakes up, he can be discharged; he doesn’t have any major issues

Before the doctor could finish, Clara suddenly walked over and grabbed him, “Doctor, I want to ask you something.

Clara hurriedly said, “I want to ask you, could Leah’s medicine cause fainting?”

Clara was taken aback and paused momentarily before saying, “Then, can it be detected from the blood that

they’ve been poisoned?”

wouldn’t be a secret potion. Why are you suddenly asking this?”

“Emmett has fainted! I saw it with my own eyes.”

There was silence on the phone for a moment before he said, “He went to find you?

“Mm-hmm.”

“Well, he didn’t do anything to you, did he? Where are you? I’ll come find you right away!”

Clara bit her lip softly and said, “Don’t come. I don’t want things to get more complicated. I’m afraid Emmett will

take revenge on you.”

“I’m not afraid of revenge!”

“Stop talking; I’m already very upset. Don’t get involved anymore; it will only make things harder for me.”

With that, Clara hung up the phone.

Looking up, Matt had already wheeled Emmett back to the ward, leaving her alone in the empty hallway.

Clara looked at the red light of the emergency room that had already gone out, and she secretly vowed never to let

Emmett fall into a permanent sleep!

Matt’s concerned voice came from his side, “Mr. Melendez, you’re finally awake! How are you feeling? I’ll go get the

doctor right away.

“Where’s Clara?”

The first thing Emmett asked when he woke up was where Clara was.

Matt was taken aback, slightly turning his face.

“I’m here.”

Clara’s voice rang out. Hearing that, Emmett’s expression finally eased a bit.

He tried to sit up, and Matt immediately assisted tiim, “Mr. Melendez, the doctor advises you to rest a bit more!

Later, I’ll have him come over and check on you; if everything is okay, you can be discharged.”

“No need. I can be discharged now! Take Clara home.” Emmett waved his hand, only glanced at Clara, and didn’t

linger.

“I can’t go back with you!” Clara stubbornly stood her ground, even involuntarily holding onto the closet handle.

Even Matt couldn’t help but speak, “Clara, Mr. Melendez just woke up; can you not piss him off anymore? You heard

the doctor’s advice just now, didn’t you?”
