This realization made Emmett, who is usually very calm, feel a sense of unease. There was

on the elevator, Emmett happened to walk out!

“I forgot to pick up my son from school. He’s probably still at school! I have to go now,

“Clara, did your son come to the company?”

Clara was taken aback, quickly shaking her head, “No way, my son is timid. He wouldn’t

come to the company! He must be waiting for me at the kindergarten”

The kid from earlier certainly didn’t seem timidi

Clara nodded, hastily getting on the elevator to go downstairs.

At the company’s entrance, she frantically hailed a cab. Just as she was about to get in,

she felt a hand tug at her clothes!

Clara turned around-

“Alex? How did you get here?”

“Mom, you forgot to pick me up. So, I came myself!” Alex seemed to remember

something, pushing Clara into the car and then following her in, “Mom, get in the car first,

let’s talk later!”

Once in the car, Clara suddenly remembered what Emmett had said to her…

‘Did Emmett see you?”

Alex lowered his head, remaining silent.

“I’m asking you, did Emmett see you? The man from the magazine you showed me

before!” Clara inquired, her voice filled with concern.

Alex nervously bit his lip and nodded guiltily. I’m sorry, Mom. I wanted to surprise you, so I

came here. But he didn’t catch me! I cleverly managed to escape!”

Clara’s frown deepened as she looked at her son.

“Alex, why would you do that? Haven’t I warned you numerous times? Don’t come to my

workplace, don’t interact with wealthy people, and don’t let too many people see your

face! Why don’t you ever listen to me?”

The thought of someone recognizing Alex’s face from years ago terrified Clara. She

couldn’t bear the idea of losing him.

“I’m sorry, Mom… I promise I won’t do it again… Alex replied remorsefully.

“Alex, this is not a joke. If you are ever discovered, we might be separated forever I can’t

even begin to imagine such a day”
