“That’s what the TV host said I think he’s pretty spot on Wouldn’t it be great if you had a

boyfriend to keep you company?” “Get rid of that thought as soon as possible! Clara

wanted to roll her eyes “And stop watching that show too. It’s bullshit?”

Alex said, ‘Mommy, you’ll always be my favorite mommy!”

Clara suddenly laughed

Everything she did for her son was worth it!

Seeing his smiling face, Clara no longer doubted whether her decision years ago was right

or not.

The next day, Clara arrived at Melendez’s company early in the morning.

She was worned that Emmett Melendez would be angry with her for rejecting him

yesterday. So she had prepared the itinerary in advance and made all the necessary

arrangements

At half past eight, Emmett walked into the office.

He glanced at Clara standing next to the desk and furrowed his brow. “What are you

standing here for?”

“Sorry, Mr. Melendez Yesterday…”

“Report the schedule”

Clara nodded quickly and began reporting the meetings he would attend today

Just as the report was about to end, she finally felt relieved. Then, suddenly, Emmett

spoke up.

“Would you marry me?”

“What?” Clara was taken aback.

“I mean a contractual marriage. We won’t have an actual husband–wife relationship.”

Emmett didn’t look at her, he continued to look at the contract and said, “My father is

pressuring me to get married. He might have approached you too. I don’t want to get

married, so I thought of finding a contract bride.”

Clara instinctively wanted to refuse

“You don’t have to decide in a hurry. I’ll give you time to consider. And if you agree, I’ll

write off the debt I owe you. Additionally, I’ll give you a sum of money and a property

Clara admitted that this condition tempted her.

After all, she had no plans of finding a boyfriend for the time being.

And it’s just fake, all for the sake of appeasing Emmett’s father
