For the time being, the last thing he wanted to hear was Leah’s voice, so he hung up the call.

When the call ended, Leah was fuming. She was extremely close to hurling her phone away.

She realized that controlling Elio was no easy feat.

Furthermore, she had thought that once she had his parents under her thumb, Elio would be putty in her hands. But

After a brief hesitation, Leah picked up her phone and made a call, which was quickly answered.

“Why the hell are you calling me?”

“Guess what? I need a drug that can control people.”

The person on the other end of the line was taken aback before bursting into laughter

“Do you take me for some drug guru from a ? Do you have any idea of the mess you’ve made for the Milburn

family? You have the nerve to call me after you leaked the Atwood family’s affairs, do you?”

“Yes, that was me! But I did it for the good of our entire family. If you give me the drug, I’ll remember the favor.”

“I don’t have this drug, nor can I make it! Mrs. Atwood chewed me out! What else do you want? I’m clueless!”

Newell Milburn flatly refused her, but Leah just laughed and said, “Our family’s secret recipe has been passed on to

you; how can you not know? Do you think I’ll back down after saying this much?”

Newell hesitated and quickly said, “No way! If you use this drug to do evil, I’ll be left holding the bag. I can’t take on

this responsibility!”

Leah chuckled, “You don’t need to worry about anything else; just give me the drug.”

“The Milburn family is already down in the dumps; I just want to live a peaceful life! If you use the drug to harm

someone, the cops will come for me. I don’t want any trouble!”

you out; who would say anything?”

“How can I be sure you won’t sell me out? Your plan is a mystery to me. You won’t even tell me!”

“So, name your price, and I’ll buy your drug. How about that?”

Leah was running out of patience and went straight to discussing the price.

However, when he heard he could profit, Newell started to show interest, “How much are you willing to pay?”

“I can give you 10% of my company’s shares; what do you say?”

“Are you serious?”

“Of course! Do you think I called you just for fun?”

However, the more sincere Leah seemed, the more worried Newell became. Unless she was planning something

nefarious, why would she be willing to pay such a high price?

But the 10% in shares could secure him a worry-free life after retirement. That was a huge temptation for Newell!
