Leah chuckled, “So, can I call you Clara? It feels kinda weird calling you Ms. Calloway all the time.”

“Of course.”

“Clara, you’re awesome! I don’t have any friends back home, you’re my first good friend!”

After hanging up, she quickly found the morning’s timber selection proposal and sent Leah all the

timber requirements.

Before long, she received a text from Leah.

“No problem, our timber can definitely meet the Melendez Group’s needs! Could you put in a good

word with Mr. Melendez?”

“I’ll do my best.”

Clara rubbed her temples after setting down her phone.

After all… she really didn’t have much confidence that Emmett would agree to the timber deal! He

cared about her, but work and personal feelings should be separate, she knew.

But Leah had helped her before, and if this deal goes through, it would benefit everyone. She didn’t

want to outright reject…

Emmett suddenly said, “Lay low around the office for a while, I need you to investigate these people in

secret.”

“Alright, should I keep in touch with the Atwoods?”

“Absolutely! Especially Taylor Atwood, I want you to find out what’s going on between him and Clara!”

Matt nodded, “Understood.”

As he left, Emmett frowned at his computer, lost in thought..

Elio was under his control, and judging by Clara’s attitude, she didn’t seem to harbor romantic feelings

for him. But this Taylor… was a different story!

his world.

Emmett got up, poured himself a drink, and then hit the intercom.

“Clara, come to my office”
