“We…we’re not planning on that right now. As long as Aiden and Alex grow up healthy and happy,

that’s all that matters.

Sophia took a deep breath. “I heard from Emmett, you have a son, right?”

Clara nodded awkwardly. “Yeah.”

“I’m gonna be straight with you I wasn’t too happy about you and my son being together, because..

well…I always hoped my son would end up with a woman who hasn’t been around the block too many

times! But now that my grandkids are so fond of you, I’ve put that prejudice aside Sophia looked at her

seriously. You can bring your child over in the future too! I’ll love him just like my own grandkids! Don’t

know you might not be too thrilled to see me, but…I’m sorry, I just miss the kids so much! Can I see

them?”

“I think I made myself pretty clear when we were abroad.” Emmett looked a bit annoyed. “Not holding

you accountable is already the biggest leniency I could give. You showing up uninvited and causing me

trouble, aren’t you afraid I might not be so nice?”

Suddenly, Leah walked up to Emmett and fell to her knees!

“I am the mother of those kids, I gave birth to them! Losing them feels like a part of my heart has been

ripped out! Mr. Melendez, I’m not asking to live with them, but can I at least see them from time to

“I’m not scared! And you can’t do that. Leah bit her lip, looking at him defiantly. “I’m their mother. If you

do anything to me, how will you explain that to them when they find out? I am their biological mother,

that’s a fact that can’t be changed.”

He had to admit, Leah was right.

“You should know, I’m married now. You shouldn’t have any expectations of me.”

“If I had any expectations, why didn’t I bring the kids back to be raised by both of us all these years?”
