“Are you really a teacher?”

“No, I’m just temporary assistant professor who taught a group of students.” Kyle didn’t even look at them, but he still answered calmly.

Dr. Dall coughed fiercely.

On the other hand, Jake laughed and tried to cover his mouth. He knew that Kyle was just being blunt to these students, but did he have to say it like that?

These students were going to doubt that there even real teachers around.

“Meow?”

Kate looked at Kyle with suspicious look. She still remembered that when Kyle first appeared, he was introduced as a professor who graduated from overseas. Uh... she forgot the university, but it was among the few famous university.

“What is it, Little Kitty?” Kyle glanced at Kate and brought her out from his pocket jacket.

The soldiers looked a bit surprised when they saw the little cat in Kyle’s hand, but there was no restriction to carry non-mutated animals. Besides, there were some pets that instead had good mutation and had been helping humanity.

.....

Anyway, the little cat looked harmless.

Of course, if the soldier knew what the little cat was capable of, he would have already termed her as the most dangerous creature in the world.

“Meow.”

Kate sulked a bit.

It seemed that she would have to ask someone to truly make a device that could translate her words so that Kyle could understand her words.

It was so tiring for her to meow and Kyle couldn’t understand any of her words. Her life so far seemed to have truly taught her nothing about how to live as a cat... aside from leeching off others.

*cough*

“Perhaps, she thought that you have to be somewhat more compassionate to others.” Jake laughed.

Kyle rolled his eyes. “I have no obligation to care about what other people are thinking about me. Also, I never want to become a professor just so that I could become the nanny of those brats.”

He didn’t even remember them, why should he help them?

The city had regulation placed in order to maintain the peace and order. No matter how temporary they were all, Kyle was too lazy to be the one to break the rule that had been set and brought along people he didn’t know.

They had to be responsible for those they brought in.

Kyle didn’t have time to play nanny with other people.

“Fine. Are we going to see our parents today?” Jake looked at the dimming sky and clicked his tongue. The journey had taken quite the toll on them and having to guard on their way here was certainly not easy.

Not to mention, they couldn’t let their guard down completely.

Even though they had been trained in the military, it would take some time before they could fully adapt to be vigilant 24 hours a day. By then, they would no longer feel too tired with it.

“We’re going to rest for the day. Dylan, you can settle your men. I’m going to find a place to rest for the night.”

“Well, even the cheapest motel will definitely hijack the price so high.” Jake sighed.

He felt that there were simply so many people who loved money too much and wanted to take advantage of them.

“Use Dylan’s family hotel.”

“Hehe, you’re right.”

Dylan glanced at his two friends and nodded in acquiescence. He didn’t care about it because his family was a business family and had a lot of money in hand after they heard about the incoming doom.

Though, they were still half skeptical.

Anyway, just booking a room in his hotel was merely a drop in the bucket for him.

“Book five rooms.” Kyle then turned to look at Dr. Dall. “Tomorrow, you’re going to the City B Research Facility and got a room for yourself there.”

Dr. Dall felt as if he was being kicked out. However, he didn’t have any intention to stay with these reckless brats at all. They would only make him feel as if he was growing old and was no longer as courageous as he used to be.

Kate’s parents were also settled in this hotel and they directly booked a room for a month for the two of them. Anyway, this hotel belonged to Dylan and the security was quite good, so it would be better for them to stay here.

They agreed with the arrangement.

“Fine.”

They walked to the hotel and Jake easily used Dylan’s name to get four rooms booked. The hotel was not actually very full as there were always some rooms that were reserved for special guests.

And naturally, they were included in that group.

Room for Dylan was naturally the suite at the top and the other three didn’t bother about him.

“You’re staying with me.”

“Meow~.”

Kate was still staying on Kyle’s arm and moved to look at her surroundings curiously. She didn’t know how long it will be for her to stay as a cat, so Kate naturally wanted to make sure that she satisfied her eyes first.

Still, she would definitely feel lonely if she had to live by herself in the future.

“Meow?”

Kate looked at Kyle hopefully while her paws were stretched towards her parents’ direction. She didn’t mind having to stay with her parents. Anyway, when she was little, she was so pampered that she even disturbed her parents to sleep with them.

It was only when she grew up that she understood that she had actually disturbed them from having a chance to give her a younger brother or sister.

*cough*

“No, you’re staying with me.” Kyle’s eyes narrowed.

He felt that this little cat seemed to have a certain sense of dislike towards him. Tsk, tsk, he will have to make this ungrateful little creature remember just who owned her.

Kate shivered when she saw Kyle’s gaze.

Alright, she will not mention it again.

But really, this man seemed to have a strong sense of possessiveness. She’s just his cat and he didn’t even want to lend her to others.

Even if those people were her parents...

Hmm, he didn’t know that, though.
