Lulu gently rocked Star after placing her in her cradle.

There was serenity in the nursery, and Lulu wished tcould stop just then.

In contrast to that serenity, the air around Zachary was ice cold.

He and Vivian were in his study. The room only had one bookshelf, while a desk was placed in the center.

"You didn't cjust to bringfood, did you?" he asked.

She might be his assistant, but she had no reason to meddle with his personal time. He could also see that she was constantly probing Wendy Jones, using the many baby products she brought as an excuse to visit. However, he did not want to expose her in front of Wendy either.

As Vivian stood opposite him and saw the coolness in his eyes, she was suddenly panicking, unsure as to how she aroused Zachary's suspicion.

Things were just fine during dinner, but he suspected her now?! "Mr. Slate," she said earnestly, inadvertently keeping her head down to hide the savagery in her eyes from him. "I was just worried-you didn't sleep well because of the baby, and I'm your assistant, so I'd like to share your burden." In reality, the reason she had ctoday was to see Lulu, though she was relieved to see that Zachary treated her like a normal babysitter.

However, even if she did not have the looks, Lulu's figure was still better than it looked on the cameras...

"That's a personal matter, Vivian," Zachary said, knowing that Vivian was smart enough to understand what he was saying. "It's late. Go home." Vivian pursed her lips.

He was letting that babysitter stay, but he would send her hthis late? "Yes, Mr. Slate," Vivian replied.

The fact that Zachary was wary meant it was not her tyet-she still had to toe the line.

She was surprised, however, when he walked her out of the door, since she only thought he was going downstairs.

"The car's waiting. Be careful since you're alone," he said.

Vivian's heart skipped a beat-he was having his chauffeur drive her?! "Thank you, Mr. Slate. You should take care of yourself too." Zachary nodded slightly and watched as she got in.

Vivian could hardly hide her delight and started studying the car, om surprised that he was cordial enough ΕΥ to send her home! Her desire for him increased further!

Meanwhile, Zachary was rubbing between his brows. after sendingn Vivian away and stopped just outside of the nursery.

"One day, all the little animals of the forests agreed to go hunting.

Tortoise wanted to go as well. She spoke softly as she read Star a bedtstory, tugging at Zachary's heartstrings. "Wendy..." He quietly murmured her nand listened until she finished her story. Star had already fallen asleep in the cradle, her little legs kicking from tto time.

After tucking Star in, Lulu headed toward the guest room to rest.
