Patricia had to zip it, not daring to make a peep, but one could tell she was still feeling salty about it.

She just couldn't wrap her head around the fact that Sophia was actually Yolanda; the girl who, in her mind, was never fit to see

the light of day. How could that chick possibly be the Frost family's long-lost daughter they'd been searching for over two decades?

The others had already tuned Patricia out, all eyes shifting to Marian who'd just been called out. Marian was still curled up on the

couch, head down, not moving an inch.

Martin, with a face like thunder, marched over, grabbed her arm, and yanked her up, ripping off the bracelet that belonged to

Yolanda from her wrist, and gave her the cold eye, "Spill the beans, how'd you get this bracelet?"

Marian's eyes were brimming with tears, but she defiantly looked up at him, "I don't know. I've been wearing it since | can

remember."

"You're still lying!" Martin's grip on her arm tightened, "How did you get it?"

"l just don't know," Marian's eyes reddened, but her gaze didn't waver.

"When did you find out that Sophia was Yolanda?" Martin switched up his interrogation tactic.

But Marian just stubbornly and tearfully locked eyes with him, "I never knew she was Yolanda."

Martin looked at her icily, "Then how would you explain about the paternity test?"

"How should | know?" Marian's eyes got even redder, "We went to get tested together, you took the hair from my head, how could |

have known it would turn out this way?"

After breaking free from Martin's grip with all her strength, she looked around at the Frost family members with tearful accusation,

"You're all blaming me; what did | do to deserve this? You were the one who askedto impersonate Yolanda to appease your

grandpa."

Pointing at Martin, Marian continued, "I saw your filial piety, left my life behind and kindly cover to play this charade with you,

and now you're all questioning my motives. You all toldwhat Yolanda was like as a child, so many details matched my own

childhood, and I've had this bracelet for as long as | can remember. Even this house feels strangely familiar, all these things made

The initial test said | was Yolanda. | was your daughter, your granddaughter; do you have any idea how ecstatic | was? | had

accepted my identity as the Frost daughter, and then out of the blue, you dragto retest and tellI'm not Yolanda, did you

even consider my feelings? I'm also a victim here. | finally found a family, began to feel at home, only to be told I'm not one of you;

what did | do wrong? Why should | have to deal with this rollercoaster of emotions and your suspicions?"

By the end of her outburst, Marian was totally unhinged, sobbing her heart out, only to collapse on the floor, a heartbreaking sight.

Gerald, Rachel and Louis were caught off guard by her pitiful weeping, looking at her with a mix of emotions.

Martin was left speechless, his face ashen with the accusation hanging over him.

Patricia, who'd grown fond of Marian, couldn't stand to see her cry and spoke up in her defense, "She's right. She didn't do

anything wrong; it's not her fault the test results were messed up. She's a victim too; she just found her family and lost them

again."

Her words left Louis with no comeback. The test with Sophia's hair was just speculation, no one had proof it was done on purpose.

Helplessly, he looked towards Brandon.

To him, Brandon seemed to know the real score, so he was the one Louis could only turn to for help.

But Brandon just coldly observed Marian and, surprisingly, didn't mercilessly blow her fabricated cover like he had the day before.

He just gave a half-hearted smirk and walked off.

Martin watched his retreating back thoughtfully, hesitated for a moment, and then followed. He caught up with Brandon just as the

latter was about to get into his car, silently pulling the door open and hopping in.

Brandon glanced at him in the rearview mirror.

"Get lost!" He snapped coldly.

Martin didn't get riled up by his words, and just calmly faced him, "You've got something else up your sleeve, haven't you?"

Given Brandon's ruthlessness and determination to expose Marian yesterday, there was no way a few tears from her would soften

him up and make him back off.

Brandon gave him a cold look and didn't respond, but he revved the engine and the car sped away.

"Brandon Crawley!" Martin had to call out to him.

This was the first tin over two years that he'd called him that way again. Brandon's handsface chilled a bit more, but he

remained silent, driving like a bat out of hell, letting his anger rip through the speed.

The car window was open, the wind gusting in, messing up Martin's hair. He turned his face towards the window, thoughts of

Sophia, and the news reports suggesting her body might be lost at sea, choking him up.

He never thought Brandon's words would ctrue, that they'd let the wolf into the fold.

Marian was banking on the fact that nobody had proof she'd used Sophia's hair for the test. And indeed, he had none.

But what he couldn't fathom was the point of Marian's stubborn denial. Even if it'd proven she was not Yolanda, no amount of

shamelessness would allow her to stay with the Frost family.

"Why do you think Marian is so hell-bent on denying knowledge of Sophia being Yolanda?"

As the window slowly rolled up, Brandon, who had been silent till then, suddenly spoke up, his voice cold as if laced with shards of

ice.

Martin looked up at Brandon but said nothing.

"Because the moment she admits she knew Sophia was Yolanda, she can't escape the suspicion of being the mastermind behind

Sophia's death."

The words seemed to be squeezed through clenched teeth.

Martin looked at Brandon in disbelief.

"She finds out Sophia is Yolanda, and before you know it, she's whispering in Daniel's ear to defy my orders and start working

overnight. She can't wash her hands of this mess!" Brandon spoke icily, "And | wasn't planning on letting her slip away anyway.

Since you're the one who brought her in, it's on you to keep an eye on her. Until we find evidence, she's not going anywhere!"
