Lily continued, "If you didn't, Hyderland wouldn't be responsible for anything, and people might start wondering why you
trespassed on our country.”
She had caught Yasmin off guard, and the latter shook her head. “Do you think things will be so simple? I'm a queen, damn it.”
"So what if you are? You'll age and die like commoners. Besides, I only care about what happens now," Lily said coldly, "I'm
running out of patience, just like you."
The queen fell silent for a long while. She gazed deeply at Fred and Nick. She wanted to see for herself how the surgery would
go and whether it would succeed. She would only be convinced when she saw the outcome.

But now...
"What do you want?" After a pause, Yasmin asked, "Will you obey me after I let the kid go? Can I trust someone who's holding
me hostage?"
"Your Majesty, you mustn't trust her!" Rhea suddenly said, worried the queen would listen to Lily. "If you free the boy, she's still
going to hold you hostage next time. You're right. You shouldn't trust anyone capable of doing such a thing."
Lily glared at Rhea. "You don't care about anyone at all, do you?"
"Says who? I care about...Her Majesty!" As if trying to convince Yasmin, Rhea quickly looked at Yasmin as if trying to convince
the queen. "Only Her Majesty trusts and values me."
Lily scoffed. "If I remember correctly, you said the same thing to Fred, didn't you? Then what happened?"
"Says who? I never—"
"Enough!" Yasmin stopped them and said quietly, "Will you put down your gun if I let the kid go?"
"I will!" Lily said solemnly.
"Good." Yasmin took a deep breath and slowly raised a hand.
Lily stared intently at her hand, only to see the queen waving it dismissively. "Heed my command, everyone. The kid is not to be
released under any circumstances."

"You—" Stunned, Lily tightened her grip on the gun. "Do you really want me to kill you?"
"So what if I do?" Yasmin looked over her shoulder at Lily and pressed her forehead against the gun without a hint of fear. "If you
want to shoot, go ahead. Since the boy is so important to you, all the more I shouldn't let him go."
Lily was at a loss as she did not expect Yasmin to do such a thing. The former thought the queen would yield to save herself.
Lily forgot Yasmin had ruled the country for decades. If the queen would budge so quickly, she would not have stayed in power
until now.
The queen then grabbed the barrel, and Rick shouted, "Your Majesty!"
However, Yasmin simply stared at Lily. "I know you're not going to shoot. You're kind, after all. You're right that you're unlike me.
If it were me, I might shoot, but you won't!"
