Chapter 286 Can You Help Me Unzip

Under the pretext of sobering up. Jasper led Eileen to the rest area.

Upon entering the room, Eileen felt guilty. “I’m sorry,” she said. “The call earlier was indeed from Yvette.

I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want to worry you. I didn’t expect them to show up.”

Jasper appeared somewhat tipsy, his eyes filled with exhaustion. He had been busy all day, starting

preparations from four in the morning, and he hadn’t had a good rest the night before..

Eileen poured a cup of warm water and sat next to him. Jasper looked at her without any intention of

blaming her. He gently stroked her long hair and said, “I know. Don’t take what they said to heart. If

they bother you again and you don’t know how to handle it, let me know, okay?”

“Alright, I won’t keep things from you next time. I know you don’t like it when people discuss these

matters in front of you, which is why I didn’t tell you.”

“Hug?”

Eileen moved closer, allowing him to hold her for a while.

After the engagement party, they planned to stay at a hotel because it was close to the airport. Their

schedule was tight, as she was leaving for Pillere the next day.

Jacqueline had barely sat down when she headed to the rest area. However, she was stopped at the

door by Fabian. “Mrs. Friedman, this is a private rest area. You cannot enter.”

“I just want to have a few words with him and then I’ll leave. Can you let me in, please? Or perhaps you

could go in and tell him. I’ll wait outside for a moment.”

With an expressionless face, Fabian spoke in a professional manner. “The attendance of the Friedman

family is solely on the account of Mrs. Smith. I believe you understand this very well.”

Yvette was visibly upset as she spoke. “Mr. Sherwood! In the end, you’re just an assistant to Jasper.

What right do you have to say such things? If you don’t go in and ask, how would you know that Jasper

doesn’t want to see me?”

Fabian replied, “You’re right. I’m just an assistant who follows Mr. Snow’s orders. I hope you won’t put

me in a difficult position.”

Yvette exclaimed, “You!” She took a step forward. Her confrontational demeanor suggested that she

wasn’t going to back down.

“Enough, Yvie,” said Jacqueline, who tried to stop her.

Yvette didn’t say anything. In a gentle and polite tone, Jacqueline said, “I’m already very happy that you

let me stay today. Please convey my apologies to Jasper. Whatever compensation he wants, I will

agree to it, even if it involves shares in Friedman Group.”

Yvette hastily said, “Mom, how can you do this?”

“Shut up! Based on seniority, a portion of Friedman Group is due to your brother anyway.”

Yvette gritted her teeth. She could only seethe, as she didn’t dare act recklessly. Her mother was right.

That was what her mother owed him.

All these years, Mom has only been concerned with Jasper. She never once considered my feelings.

Aside from nurturing me to become an excellent successor for Friedman Group, all her love and

attention were devoted to him.

Fabian nodded. “Rest assured, Mrs. Friedman, I will relay your message to Mr. Smith.”

Jacqueline gently brushed off the dust from the gift box she had just picked up from the ground. “The

contents are intact. It’s a token of my affection. I would appreciate it if you could pass it to Jasper for

me.”

Fabian hesitated.

Jacqueline added, “This represents a mother’s heartfelt concern. I would appreciate it if you could help

me.”

After much hesitation, Fabian finally agreed. “Alright.”

Even if she hadn’t spoken much to him, it was already enough for her.

This was just the beginning. One day, she would make him accept her again, to make up for the hurt

she had caused him in the past.

Jacqueline exited the hotel and got into the car. Unable to hold back any longer, she finally broke down

and started crying.

Yvette silently comforted her.

The sudden surge of emotions in Jacqueline was a common occurrence for Yvette. Sometimes, her

mother would repeat Jasper’s name in her dream, crying in sorrow as she apologized to him.

Inside the break room, Jasper lay on Eileen’s lap for an hour.

Just then, Fabian suddenly burst through the door. I have bad news, Mr. Smith. Old Mrs. Smith has

been hospitalized.”

Jasper’s eyes opened in an instant. Sitting up, his eyes narrowed, a glint flashing across them. “What

happened?”

Fabian replied, “You should go home now. Ms. Eileen, there’s no need for you to accompany him.”

Eileen asked in confusion, “Why?”

Jasper stared at her.

“I’m not sure, but they said it was Old Mrs. Smith’s intention. It’s not surprising at all because she

probably knows that you are about to leave the country and didn’t want you to worry.”

It does sound like Grandma’s way of doing things.

Jasper furrowed his brows, feeling that things weren’t as simple as they seemed. “How is she doing

now?”

Fabian replied, “The family doctor has already rushed over.”

Jasper stood up, picked up his suit from the couch, and said to Eileen, “You rest at the hotel for now. I’ll

head home first.”

However, Eileen insisted, “I’ll go with you.”

rest, your body won’t be able to handle the jet lag. The situation with Grandma isn’t good. I’ll call you

again.”

Eileen nodded. “Remember to keep your phone close at all times. If you can’t make it tomorrow, you

don’t have to accompany me.”

Jasper gently touched her long hair. “Don’t worry. I’ll definitely come back early.”

“Alright.”

After Jasper left, it wasn’t long before the hotel staff delivered a roo

card for the presidential suite.

Fabian bid farewell to the guests, and it was almost eleven o’clock. Eileen made her way to the room

on the sixty-sixth floor. Upon opening the door, she was greeted by a romantic scene of candlelight and

rose petals scattered across the floor. In the darkness, the lights shimmered like stars.

It was unfortunate that she found herself alone on their wedding night.

As Eileen pushed open the bedroom door, she was taken aback. There, on the bed, lay an

overwhelming number of nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine red roses.

Did he… Did he buy all the roses in the entire city?

The room was also filled with a captivating fragrance, so rich that it made her slightly dizzy. Holding her

head, her vision suddenly became blurry. In the dimly lit surroundings, she saw a figure approaching.

Without a word, he pressed her against the floor-to-ceiling window, passionately kissing her.

When he finally released her, Eileen felt as if her entire body was floating, her mind in a complete haze.

“Take a good look at who I am!”

Eileen shook her head, quickly pushing him away. “Don’t come near me, I’m feeling warm. I want to

take a shower!”

The man leaned over, gently nibbling her earlobe. He slid down the strap of her dress from her

shoulder, planting a kiss. “Shall I assist you with your shower?”

His voice was enchanting and magnetic, as if it emanated from the divine. Eileen felt as though her

entire body was no longer under her control, as if she was in a dream. Everything became surreal to

her.

Eileen squinted, reaching out to touch his face. “Who are you? Why can’t I see your face clearly? I’m

really warm, could you help me unzip this, please?”
