Chapter 240 I Am Willing To Give You Everything

The rain in the night was bitterly cold, penetrating to the bone. Eileen quickly draped a shawl over

herself and descended the stairs, while Mary turned on the downstairs light.

In the darkness, a man was dragging his exhausted body, moving slowly step by step. Seeing this,

Eileen’s pupils contracted, and without hesitation, she rushed into the rain. Mary quickly grabbed the

umbrella hanging at the entrance and followed her, holding it up.

Eileen was speckled with droplets of water, her delicate eyebrows furrowed in concern. “What’s wrong

with you? It’s late, why aren’t you home yet? Why aren’t you using an umbrella in the rain? Where’s

Fabian?”

Seeing his disheveled appearance, Eileen’s heart tightened, and her throat felt constricted.

Jasper moved his thin lips, collapsing onto Eileen as if he had used up his last bit of strength to hold

her tightly. The water droplets on his black hair were icy cold as they trickled down, seeping into

Eileen’s fair neck. Eileen slightly leaned back, tentatively patting Jasper’s back. “Jasper?”

Mary exclaimed, “Oh, my! He has fainted!”

Eileen quickly helped him to the living room sofa. “Mary, please boil some water and fetch at clean set

of clothes from Eric’s room.”

“Oh, okay.”

Eileen’s clothes were also half-soaked. When she took off her shawl, she was startled to see a patch of

bright red blood on one side.

Where did this bloodstain come from?

As Eileen removed his suit jacket, she discovered that the tattoo on his neck looked as if it had been

removed. There were multiple scars left behind, and a few spots inexplicably stained with blood.

Fearing that something might really happen to Jasper, she didn’t have time to think too much. She

reached out and unbuttoned his shirt. After taking it off, Eileen covered her mouth in shock, her body

trembling uncontrollably as waves of shock tore through her heart.

Not a single part of his upper body was unscathed. From his neck down to his fingertips, one could

clearly see numerous burn-like wounds.

What happened to him?

Mary moved swiftly, fetching the clothes and setting them aside. Upon seeing the state of

Jasper’s body, she exclaimed in shock, “Oh, my goodness! What has happened to this Ms. Eileen,

shouldn’t we call an ambulance right away?”

person?

She stepped forward and touched Jasper’s forehead. “He has a fever. What are we going to do now?”

It took Eileen quite a while to gather her thoughts. “I… I will make the call now.”

“What about these clothes?”

“Just change them for him.”

Mary wore a troubled expression. “This is hardly appropriate! What if he wakes up and accuses me of

taking advantage of him? Ms. Eileen, perhaps you should be the one to change him! After all, he was

your former sweetheart, wasn’t he? I’ll go boil some water.”

Mary then slipped away, leaving Eileen with no choice but to wait a bit longer. She fiddled with the

phone on the coffee table but couldn’t get through to an emergency hotline. She glanced at her mobile

phone on the table, only to see that it had no reception whatsoever, probably due to the rainy weather.

Eileen was momentarily at a loss but finally decided to bring him to the room upstairs. After what

seemed like forever, the two of them managed to move him onto the bed. Despite all the commotion,

Jasper did not wake up.

“Now that the hot water is ready, please bring some fever medication.”

“All right.”

After Mary left, Eileen and Jasper were the only ones remaining in the room. Eileen had already turned

up the heating.

As Jasper was injured from the waist down, she chose not to dress him just yet. She needed to treat

his wounds first. Taking care of a sick person was something Eileen was quite adept at.

In her past

life, she was the one who took care of Eric whether he was drunk or sick in the hospital. Apart from

those close to him, he wouldn’t let anyone else near him. Gradually, she also developed this habit. To

avoid various unexpected situations, she even read quite a few books on nursing.

Eileen carefully dried the areas where he had removed his tattoos with a tissue before. applying some

medication to prevent infection.

The wound on the hand she was holding was bleeding, so she made sure to be gentle. Wasn’t he

perfectly fine when they had dinner last night? Why would he do such a thing to himself?

Eileen’s delicate and beautiful face showed little emotion as she quietly tended to his

wounds.

Jasper couldn’t bring himself to let go of Nancy, just as Eric never let go of Vera after her death in his

previous life.

I thought that Jasper would return to the past with Nancy, so why would he come looking for me in the

middle of the night? Just like Eric, Jasper too has always been inscrutable, never letting anyone figure

out his thoughts.

Although she was currently around eighteen or nineteen years old, her wisdom was equivalent to that

of a person who had lived two lifetimes.

At 4:26 in the morning, Eric’s eyes were as cold as ice as he stared at the footage from the surveillance

cameras. At that moment, the man resembled a venomous snake lurking in the shadows.

The aura he exuded turned the entire study into a freezing cold place.

He grabbed the mug beside him and hurled it forcefully at the door. Coffee trickled down. the gray

wallpaper, and shards of the mug littered the floor.

Just like the storm raging outside, raindrops pitter-pattered against the glass. A bolt of lightning tore

through the night sky, illuminating half of the man’s profound face. Hist expression was as cold as frost,

terrifying and chilling to the extreme.

Upon hearing the commotion, Vera immediately opened the door to his study. “Eric!”

She froze in fear when she saw the screen light illuminating the man’s face. “What happened. Eric? I

heard—”

“Get out!” Eric’s voice was a low, suppressed roar, barely containing his anger.

Vera stepped forward with concern. “I’m just worried about you.”

“Don’t you understand what I just said? Listen carefully; you are not allowed to be anywhere. near my

study without my permission.”

Vera’s fingers curled into a fist, her fingertips turning Blake. “G-Got it.”

Tears of injustice gushed out of her eyes as she turned around and left, slamming the door shut behind

her to vent her emotions.

Just then, the phone on the desk began to vibrate.

Upon seeing the series of numbers, Eric stood up and walked towards the floor-to-ceiling window. He

had a tall and straight figure. With one hand holding the phone and the other in his pocket, he patiently

waited for the person to speak.

To his surprise, the person screamed hysterically, “Jasper has returned! He must have gone to find her.

You must take action! Jasper is mine! He belongs to me!”

Eric took out a cigarette and lit it in the darkness, the wisps of smoke dissipating in the air as he

responded, “If you want me to help you, then there is a price to pay, or an equivalent. exchange. What

can you offer me?” The man’s voice lacked any emotion.

It seemed as if he knew this person would definitely contact her.

“Name your price! I will pay whatever it is!”

The man exhaled a thick cloud of smoke, “I am not interested in money.”

“So, what do you desire?”

“What I desire is quite simple. It all depends on whether you are willing or not.”

“Alright. I am willing to give you anything as long as you assist me.”

“Even your life?” he asked, sounding like a heartless monster.
