Chapter 173

Cynthia’s dark, clear eyes continued to gaze at Joshua.

Joshua could not quite figure out what she was thinking, asking, “What’s wrong? Afraid to

record it?”

“Of course not.” Cynthia shifted her gaze away from his incredibly handsome face and

slightly adjusted her body to look at Felix behind him. “But before recording, Dad, please

put down your phone.”

Joshua and Felix were surprised.

Felix was shrewd, and he calmly placed his phone down, putting the newspaper on his lap

and pretending to be confused.

“What?”

Joshua grew even more bothered, thinking this was how Felix used all sorts of tricks to

deceive his kind and innocent mother into his grasp.

“The phone beneath the newspaper. You should have just sent a message to the secretary

department, right?” Cynthia found the phone’s position with just a glance, but her

expression was still gentle.

Joshua and Felix were both taken by surprise.

Felix’s gaze fell on Joshua as if saying, ‘Cynthia is too smart! What should we do?”

Joshua looked back at him. I have no idea.”

He had never imagined that Cynthia would find out.

Felix was usually so reliable in his actions; Joshua had witnessed it from his childhood.

However, he did not expect Felix to be outsmarted by Cynthia in this situation.

“What?” Felix looked genuinely confused.

Anyone who saw him would think he was innocent.

Daphne was perplexed too, thinking that Cynthia must have made a mistake. After all,

Felix’s expression truly showed his cluelessness.

Nonetheless, Cynthia was not foolish and had been specially trained in certain areas.

“It’s nothing.” Cynthia did not dwell on the matter any further. Instead, she exchanged a

few pleasantries with the elders before saying, “I have some things to attend to, so I’ll

head back for now. I’ll come visit you when I have the time.”

Daphne stood up. “I’ll walk you out.”

Cynthia did not refuse. She knew Daphne must have something to talk to her about.

The whole room watched as they left, and Felix set the newspaper aside to talk with

Joshua. “Cynthia is smart, and it’s good for her to divorce Joshua.”

Joshua was confused.

Did Felix even know what he was talking about?

“I have to admit, I wouldn’t mind having her as my go dd aaughter. Your mother has

always wanted a son and a daughter. She’d be happy to have Cynthia as one, Felix spoke

in a slow, contented voice.

“That’s a good idea,” Old Man Neal joined the conversation.

If Cynthia became their go dda ughter, It would not matter whether she was with Joshua or

not.

Felix began discussing with Old Man Neal, “Why don’t you talk to Cynthia about it?”

“No problem,” Old Man Neal readily agreed.

Watching Felix and Old Man Neal discussing it made Joshua’s head throb.

He felt like they were intentionally messing with him.

“Do I need to remind you that Cynthia is still my wife? If you want to make her your g od

da ughter or granddaughter, do you know what people will say when they find out?”

Joshua spoke formally.

Old Man Neal replied, “You’re divorcing soon.”

Felix added, “In two days.”

Old Man Neal continued, “Once you’re divorced, I’ll talk to Cynthia and her family about

this matter.”

Felix offered, “111 accompany you then ”

Old Man Neal agreed, “Sure.”

The two of them completely ignored Joshua and continued their conversation without any

intention of seeking his opinion.

Joshua felt like they were just here to cause trouble
