Chapter 115

Joshua was not in a hurry to leave, so when Cynthia placed her order for breakfast and headed upstairs, he took it

upon himsell to go to her kitchen. As someone who did not enjoy cooking, Cynthia’s kitchen looked brand new.

Except for a few simple seasonings, there was nothing else.

Joshua found the soy milk maker, took out some beans, and began making breakfast.

Half an hour later, Cynthia’s order arrived, and Joshua’s breakfast was also ready. He made soy milk, a sandwich

with a fried egg. When Cynthia saw Joshua’s breakfast she frowned.

She only cared about one thing and asked. “Did you clean the kitchen?”

“No.” Joshua lied.

Cynthia suddenly did not feel like her catmeal was very appetizing, and her temper rose. “Joshua”

Joshua continued to eat his breakfast, unfazed. As he ate, he could not help but sneak a glance at Cynthia, and a

thought crossed his mind.

Cynthia had been living here for a while now. What did she usually eat? There was barely any food in the house,

and if it were not for him scrounging arcund, he would not have been able to put together a simple breakfast.

“Do you eat takrout every day?”

“What does it have to do with you?”

“I’m just concerned for Grandpa’s sake.”

Cynthia did not reply, not believing his excuse.

She quickly finished her oatmeal and reminded him, ‘Remember to clean the kitchen and put everything back to

how it was before you used it.”

“Can you do me a favor? Joshua asked after finishing his breakfast.

Cynthia gave him a skeptical look. It was not like Joshua to ask for favors.

Joshua cleaned up and then began discussing the matter with Cynthia, “Can you give me a list of people in Jiverton

who have been

diagnosed with stomach cancer?”

Cynthia was confused. She could not help but wonder what gave Joshua the confidence and courage to make such

a request.

Did she really look like the kind of person who would help him out?

“Why don’t you just openly admit you’re looking for Jayleen’s medical records?” She saw through his intentions.

Asking for a ist of people

was just a cover.

“You’re right. Grandpa asked me to do IL Joshua confessed, name–dropping Old Man Neal.

“Not interested,” Cynthia relused bluntly.

Cynthia stared at Joshua, wondering what the hell this man was planning.

“He doesn’t believe Jayleen ever had stomach cancer, and he wants to see her medical records from both Jiverton

and abroad. I thought.

you could help me find them faster.”

“Why don’t you just ask for the records from Jayleen Cynthia pushed back.

Joshua walked toward her and looked down at her. “Are you unable to find them?”

“Yes, I’m not. My computer rejects the name “Jayleen Shaw. It treats anything related to her as a virus and deletes

it automatically.

Cynthia admitted frankly.

Joshua was taken aback, not expecting her to have such a strong reaction to the name.

Cynthia threw the car keys at him and said. “The door is over there. You can leave now.”

Joshua look the keys, assuming she was still angry about what had happened yesterday.

“Jayleen won’t repeat what she did yesterday. Don’t be angry anymore.”

Cynthia suddenly got curious and asked, “If it wasn’t Moses who sent me home yesterday, but Mitchell–Would you

still believe Jayleen?

Joshua’s expression changed, the light in his eyes getting dimmer,
