10:48 Sat, 23 Mar Chapter 91 “Sophia! Wait a moment!” “Miss Miller, what do you have to say about the recent headlines?” “Is it true that you are carrying Dante Crawford's love child?” “Sophia! Sophia! How has the past few weeks affected your company?” “Did Scott Vanderbilt choose to be an investor for other reasons?” These questions were thrown atas | kept my head down, my face utterly blank, and my jaw firmly set as | rushed through the pestering mob and in to the office building where security had taken care of the rest.

| had known better now than to ever have grace for these individuals let alone pause and given them the tof day. It was a huge mistake trying to speak to them before and it had only landedin to far more greater of a problem than | had ever imagined.

Instead of being appreciative of my kindness and share the truth that | had spoken, their papers had twisted every word | had said. Trying to speak to them did not have any where close to the desired effect that Lucy had suggested it would.

THE | made my way over to the elevator and jabbed the metal button a little too hard then was necessary but | didn’t care. | was far too irritated with walking in and out of here with those low life’s being nothing more than a shameless disturbance.

When | stepped out of the elevator | saw Lucy shrink in her seat behind her desk and | shot her a hard look.

“I'm sure you're aware of the disaster your little suggestion has caused.” | said to her and she shrugged sheepishly.

“Sophia, | am so sorry. | didn’t know it would turn out like this. | thought speaking to them would help clear the air and end the rumours but these idiots are cunning.” Lucy’s own anger with the situation made itself known.

| sighed and waved it away. “It’s fine. It isn’t like you knew the reality of these people.” | spat out in disgust.

Dante was playing it safe and his plan of action was to ignore the paparazzi until they grew bored and moved on with their lives. It was difficult to imagine such a thing at present considering how persistent they were proving to be by now.

“I suppose so.” My response had been dry since | was distracted by the raised voices outside of the building as security tried to shoo the paps away.

At this rate, | might as well stay at huntil they leavealone. Huh, | don’t know why | hadn't thought about that before. Hayley was in such a mood because Dante had been away and | was not about to explain to her what exactly was going on because it was all too complicated for a child to be a part of.

“Anyways, what's the agenda looking like today?” | asked as | shrugged of my bag from my arm.

“Several investors and BOD are asking for a meeting. This new stir doesn’t bode well for the company’s image and they all seem to share the exact sconcern.” Lucy explained and I grit my teeth together.

“Did you schedule a meeting already?” | hope she didn’t because | was no where near being ready to explain to the subordinates the details of what was going on right now.

Lucy shook her head. “No, not yet. | knew better than to schedule this specific one before consulting with you.” She said in a matter of fact tone and nodded curtly at her conveying my approval.

With that, | headed in to my office and, after discarding my bag and coat, plopped down behind my desk and logged into my computer. | checked my emails and there were several with the bulk of them being from investors. Sof them enquired about what the hell had been going on but using more professional vocabulary whilst others insisted on a meeting to be held as soon as possible.

This was going to be one tough clean up but it had to be done but in order forto do this | would need to speak to Dante and Scott to make sure that we were all three on the spage and out stories matched. If the three of us speak the truth, which is that none of these rumours are true and are just that flase accusations, then it would all be as easy as cake to fix.

On the flip side, if sone like Scott decided to take revenge for humiliation now then it would prove to be a bit more challenging than we can imagine.

| hadn't seen let alone spoken to Scott since the event and he had been awfully quiet but the paparazzi had not been bothering him at all which had cas a surprise but good for him. However, | could only assthat he didn’t want to be dragged majorly in all of this any more than he already had been.

With a deep inhale, | cracked my knuckles then composed a new email to Scott explaining the situation and subtly asking for his cooperation with out being too direct. | sent the email of and could only hope for his shared assistance because he, too, could be a bit trying at times.

| don’t think five minutes had past after | had sent that email before my phone had began to ring. After reaching for the buzzing phone, | noticed Scott's number flash across the screen and | instantly answered and pressed the phone to my ear.
