With how serious Caleb sounded, Natalie didn't doubt him and replied without hesitation, "Wait for me."

Caleb replied gently, "Okay."

After hanging up, Natalie neatly packed away the blueprints on her desk and placed them in a drawer.

Then she grabbed her car keys and headed out.

Glancing at her watch, she realized it was almost time to finish work. If she went to pick up Caleb now,

she definitely wouldn't make it home in time for dinner.

After all, it took forty minutes to drive to the airport.

She called Heather. "You don't have to wait for me for dinner tonight."

"Is work too busy? You haven't fully recovered yet, so don't strain your eyes too much," Heather said

concernedly.

Upon hearing that Natalie wouldn't be coming home for dinner, Heather naturally assumed Natalie was

working overtime.

"It's not overtime. A friend has arrived in Verde City, and we're planning to have dinner together,"

Natalie explained.

"Alright, come back early, and don't drink," Heather instructed from the other end of the line.

Heather was now worried about Natalie every single time she was away from home. It was probably

because of everything that had happened before, and Heather was now traumatized.

"I got it," Natalie replied before hanging up and focusing on driving.

The drive was smooth, and forty minutes later, Natalie arrived at the airport to pick up Caleb. He was

wearing a gray coat with a navy blue scarf, looking exceptionally gentle.

As soon as Caleb spotted Natalie, he began walking toward her with his luggage in tow. Natalie moved

to take his suitcase, but Caleb skillfully evaded her and said, "How can I let a lady do the heavy lifting?"

He believed in treating women with kindness and respect, so how could he allow Natalie to do such a

thing?

Natalie chuckled. "I didn't expect you to be quite the gentleman."

"Shall we?" Caleb prompted.

"Didn't Yvonne come with you?" Natalie asked. She wondered why Yvonne, who usually accompanied

Caleb everywhere, was absent this time.

At the mention of Yvonne, Caleb stiffened, and he replied, "She resigned."

"Resigned?"

Natalie was taken aback. People like them typically signed long-term contracts for positions like

personal assistants.

"She resigned after the last time I saw you," Caleb explained.

Last time?

Was it after the incident where they claimed the child was Caleb's to make Cedric back off?

Natalie didn't dwell on that particular matter too much. She was shocked by the news that Yvonne had

resigned.

"You let her go?"

They talked as they made their way towards her car. Natalie sensed a hint of resignation in Caleb's

demeanor when this topic came up.

This person really shouldn't spend too much time on the darker side of the world. Natalie had

unconsciously always thought this way about Caleb.

Caleb glanced at her and said, "When a person's heart is no longer there, keeping a shell is extremely

dangerous."

His words carried weight, and Natalie wholeheartedly agreed with Caleb's perspective. It was indeed

risky to cling to something that no longer held true.

"You're right. Keeping a shell can be dangerous."

This was especially true for someone like Caleb, who was involved in various matters. If things turned

sour with Yvonne, it could cause trouble for him. Parting amicably was beneficial for both parties.

Caleb noticed Natalie heading for the driver's seat as they got into the car.

"Let me drive," he insisted, clearly concerned about her eyes.

After their phone call at the airport, Caleb regretted it. Natalie had recently undergone eye surgery, and

her eyes might still be recovering.

Sensing Caleb's concern, Natalie reassured him with a smile, "Don't worry. My vision is perfectly

normal now."

As they settled into the car, Caleb observed Natalie closely. "Can you really see everything now?"

"Of course," Natalie replied confidently.

Caleb felt reassured by her response. Natalie glanced at Caleb and asked, "What do you feel like

eating tonight?"

"Are you inviting me to dinner?" Caleb teased.

"It's already this late, so of course, we'll eat together," Natalie replied.

Caleb chuckled. "The food at the revolving restaurant in the Simeria Tower is good. Let's go there."

"Alright."

Natalie was familiar with the revolving restaurant atop the tower, which offered a panoramic view of

Simeria. It was a romantic spot popular among couples and even frequented by social media

influencers.

On the other hand, Irwin had been repeatedly trying to call Natalie.

Rebecca had been emotionally unstable and desperate to see Natalie since yesterday. It was evident

that she believed Natalie was the only one who knew Cedric's whereabouts.

Despite Irwin's attempts to reach Natalie via phone, she never answered.

"Dylan."

"Yes, sir."

"Find out where she is." Irwin's tone was tense and cold.

He was leaving Simeria tomorrow. It was just for a day, and she couldn't endure even that?!

His mind felt extremely chaotic!

The saying that the ones left behind were the most tormented... felt really true.

Dylan nodded. "Alright."

Dylan went downstairs immediately to find out where Natalie had gone.

Meanwhile, Natalie took Caleb to the revolving restaurant atop the tower. They sat by the window.

Roses adorned the table, and the warm light added a touch of romance to the ambiance.

Caleb ordered the dishes, indicating his familiarity with the place. Natalie focused on eating. She rarely

dined out, especially after returning to Simeria, where Heather maintained strict control over her

lifestyle and health.

"How does it taste?"

"It's delicious," Natalie enjoyed the flavors.

A hint of amusement flickered in Caleb's eyes at her answer.

"Shall I leave the car for you to use after this?" Natalie asked.

The two seemed like familiar friends.

Natalie looked at Caleb while cutting her steak. As Caleb ate, he replied, "Sure, if you don't mind. I

won't be staying here long."

"Alright." Natalie nodded.

But the next moment, Caleb suddenly looked at her and said, "Yvonne is pregnant!"
